At Oaktree, we realize that we have a lot to be thankful for! We are truly blessed and fortunate to be able to serve so many people and impact our community, not just today, but everyday. I truly believe that the gift of giving is the most amazing treasure, and we do our best to provide the necessary care to deliver the most important gift of all- health! And like Santa Claus and his elves, it takes a whole team to make that delivery! That’s where you come in 🙂
Angel tree – Helping local families in need
For some families, this time of year can be particularly difficult because they are already going through financial difficulty, have experienced loss, or are struggling to keep their families safe. We are pairing up with the Eastern Ontario Resource Centre (EORC) in Orleans, to support two families in need this holiday season.
The first family is a single mother with four kids (13, 11-year old twins, and a 9-month-old). The mother is a client of the VAW program (Violence Against Women). Her abusive husband recently left her to move back to his home country, leaving her with a newborn baby and 3 other children. We will have the information shortly regarding the second family we are adopting.
We will be looking for particular gifts to give these families, so if you are able, please stop by our Christmas trees in the coming weeks to learn a little bit more and grab an “Angel” to take home. We hope you can help us, help them!
Santa Parade in Orleans – this Saturday!
Speaking of trees, you may have noticed that we are already decorating, and it’s only November! We are getting ready for our second annual viewing of Santa’s Parade of Lights at Oaktree Orleans! This Saturday, November 24th, we will be opening up the clinic at 4h30pm prior to the parade. There will be refreshments, music, holiday cheer and even Santa Claus will be stopping by! We hope you can join us while we get cozy in the clinic, before the parade starts at 6pm on Saint-Joseph Blvd. Remember to park your cars in a smart spot if you intend to leave before the end of the parade, as the roads may be a little tricky to navigate! Feel free to invite your friends, families, and coworkers and head over to our Facebook page or Eventbrite to RSVP. See you there for the festivities!
